We want every order to work out. But if something is not right, here is everything you need to know about returns, refunds, and exchanges.

delivery

packing and handling

We pack orders Monday to Saturday. The cut-off is 12 noon. Orders placed before noon are packed the same day. Orders placed after noon, or on a Sunday, are packed the next working day.

international shipping

For orders outside the UK, including Ireland, we use Standard International (2–11 business days). Handling times may be a little slower as we create a custom label for each shipment. Any taxes and duties on import are paid by the customer.

returns policy

change of mind

30-day returns

You have 30 days from the date of delivery to return an item if you have changed your mind. After 30 days we are unable to accept change-of-mind returns.

The item must be unused, in its original condition and packaging, and accompanied by proof of purchase. We do not accept change-of-mind returns on clearance items.

Restocking fee: A 2% restocking fee applies to all approved change-of-mind returns and will be deducted from your refund.

defective or damaged

12-month coverage

If your item is defective or was damaged on arrival, you are covered for 12 months from the date of delivery. Please contact us as soon as you discover the fault.

We have extensive experience with our product range and can often help troubleshoot or resolve the issue without the need for a return, so it is always worth reaching out before sending anything back.

seed returns

Opened seed packets cannot be returned or exchanged due to the perishable nature of seeds and to ensure product integrity for all customers.

If your seeds are faulty or were incorrectly described, please contact us within 12 months and we will arrange a replacement or refund.

how to return

submitting a return request

For change-of-mind returns, you can request a return directly through your account:

  1. Click the profile icon in the store menu, or navigate to this returns page, and click Request return.
  2. Enter your email address and click Continue.
  3. Open the email sent from our store and copy the six-digit verification code.
  4. Enter the verification code in the store.
  5. Click Request return next to the order you want to return.
  6. If your order has more than one item, select the items you want to return.
  7. Select a return reason and add any relevant notes.
  8. Click Request return.

Once your request is reviewed, you will receive an email confirming whether it has been approved. If approved, the email will include instructions on next steps. Your refund will be processed once the item is received.


faulty or damaged items

Please submit a return request through your account using the steps above, selecting "Defective or Damaged" as your reason and including as much detail as possible in the notes.

At the same time, contact us with your order number, a description of the fault, and photos or video showing the issue.

Once your return is received and inspected, we will email you to confirm receipt and advise whether your refund has been approved.

Approved refunds are processed to your original payment method within 5 to 10 business days.

If you have not received your refund after this time, check your bank account first, then contact your bank or card provider. If you have done both and still have not received it, please get in touch with us.

exchanges

We replace items that are defective or damaged. Contact us with your order number and details of the issue.


gift purchases

If an item was marked as a gift at checkout and shipped directly to you, you will receive a gift credit for the value of the return once we receive the item back.

If the order was not marked as a gift, the refund will be issued to the original purchaser.

return shipping

sending your return

Return address: Gathera Returns, Great Stambridge Hall, Rochford, Essex, SS4 2BF. Please do not send returns to the product manufacturer.

Return shipping is at the customer's cost. If you would like us to generate a prepaid label, we can arrange Royal Mail at £2.85 or DPD at £10.00, both deducted from your refund. DPD is recommended for larger, heavier, or higher-value items. To request a label, contact us.

If you arrange your own return shipping, please use a trackable service. We cannot guarantee receipt of items sent without tracking. Return shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to our error or a product defect.
