our story

it started on a camping trip

In 2018, Peter (electrical engineer) and Dilhan (mechanical engineer) met on a camping trip and found they were both quietly frustrated with the same thing: growing food indoors was harder than it needed to be.

Peter's friend had just moved into a flat with no outdoor space and no usable natural light. Dilhan had spent years looking at how much water conventional gardening wastes. Hydroponics uses up to 95% less water than soil growing, and the technology existed to do it beautifully indoors. The only problem was that nobody had made it feel like home.

So they built gathera to fix that.

Every product we've built has been shaped by the people growing with it. Customers who wrote in about tangled wiring. Growers who needed bigger basins. Plant people who wanted something they'd actually want on their kitchen shelf.

That feedback loop is why we're still here. Not just listening, but genuinely changing things. It's also why we've been stocked at Costco, David Jones, and Flower Power. Not because of clever marketing, because the products work and the community talks.

In 2024, we launched the Sun Series, our most advanced indoor growing range to date. Full-spectrum 3500K light that makes a room feel warm, not like a hardware store. A unified 24V ecosystem where every component is interchangeable. 20L Heirloom Basins that grow three times faster than soil.

We think it's the best hydroponic range in the world. And now we're bringing it to the UK, because good growing shouldn't stop at a border.
